Water & Sewer Heavy Equipment Operator

Perform routine maintenance including minor service, maintenance and cleaning of equipment
Responsible for alerting the mechanic of any significant problems
Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members
Take caution to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects
Check fuel supplies at job sites to ensure adequate availability
Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work
Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met
Keep record of material or equipment usage or problems encountered
Must have initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested
Ability to repair concrete curbs, sidewalks, driveways and roadways
Ability to repair and pave streets
